“The Pet Shop Boys tour  was a real defining moment of my career as I realised there was no longevity in being a back up singer and I couldn’t see myself  doing that for many more years. I had the time of my life on that tour and as we were performing to huge audiences it gave me a big confidence boost. I decided that I wanted to get into song writing seriously as I had only really dabbled in writing before and my friend Sylvia Mason-James who was touring with me, introduced me to  a guy called Nigel Rush who  was setting up a publishing company and was looking for artists and writers.  We set up a meeting and I played some of my songs to him and we’ve been working together ever since that day."
Alongside the writing, further backing vocal work continued with Darryl Hall, Mike and the Mechanics, Louise, Boyzone, Geri Halliwell, Cyndi Lauper and Elton John, and Celine Dion, with Pam singing back up vocals on Celine’s UK No.1 Hit “Think Twice”.
